GREECE

Description.

Greece is a country located in Southern Europe on the southern tip of the Balkan Peninsula, known for its ancient history, rich culture, and beautiful landscapes, including thousands of islands. It shares borders with Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Turkey. The country's geography is mountainous with a long coastline on the Mediterranean, Ionian, and Aegean Seas.

Cultural Etiquette
When visiting Athens, respect local customs and traditions. Greeks are known for their warm hospitality, so even a friendly greeting can enhance your experience. In churches or monasteries, dress modestly, and be aware of any restrictions on photography. Service is slow... so slow down and enjoy; you have to ask for the check. *The American Express credit card is really only used in hotels.

Communicating in Greece
Although Greek is the official language, many Athenians, particularly in tourist areas, speak English very well. It's good to learn a few basic Greek phrases, this will enrich your experience and demonstrate respect for local culture.
