Messini, Greece: the oldest distillery in Greece - Callicounis Distillery
Calliounis distillery has been in operation since 1850, with the same founding family still in ownership. This is the oldest distillery in Greece and the third oldest business in Greece! This was an incredible stop. The head chemist conducted a very thorough tour for us and it ended with an amazing tasting session.
Thessaloniki, Greece: the oldest bar in Thessaloniki - Ouzeri Tsinari

Hard to believe we found the oldest bar in Thessaloniki, buy we did! We didn’t have a car so we walked, and if we did have a car… we probably would have still walked because the streets were so small and winding and turning into one way and scary! The walk was amazing because we got to see the entire town (old and new sections).
Ouzeri Tsinari has been in operation since about 1885. It was originally a Turkish coffeehouse and reading room that served as a multi-purpose social hub for men, offering coffee, tobacco, and even barber services… now it’s just a great place to eat and drink!
Athens, Greece: the oldest distillery in Athens - Brettos Bar

After a day of walking around Athens, Greece, Brettos was the perfect stop for us. They have a nice outdoor seating area as well as a wonderful indoor space.
Brettos is the oldest distillery in Athens. It opened in 1909 at the ground level of an Athenian old mansion in the heart of Plaka. Try their Brandy and Ouzo that they make themselves.
