Portugal is old… very old, so yes there are many old bars and taverna all over. We tried to go to a few, but it didn’t work out. Looks like we’ll have to try again!

Oldest tavern in Lisbon, Portugal: Martinho da Arcada (1778)

Martinho da Arcada is located in the beautiful square on the water. It’s tucked away in a very unassuming corner. They have outdoor seating and some in the cafe area, but they also have a large restaurant as well.

Oldest Irish Pub in Lisbon, Portugal: O’Gilins Irish pub (1995)

O’Gilins Irish pub made the cut, because it’s the oldest Irish pub! The atmosphere here is unparalleled to any other pub. It was so much fun here and I got to taste my fist Guiness beer!
